Lotro Style: The Best Lotro Fashion related Sites
Before Lalia's Market made fashion easy we had to rely on our own creativity. Some very dedicated players even created blogs highlighting some of the more dramatic outfits that can be put together with cosmetic gear. Many of the most popular looks include pieces that you've likely thrown away or stored in your vault and never looked at again.
Even if you're not into fashion, the outfits show off how intricate some of the armour pieces are. When you've got your graphics turned down, you definitely miss the spectacular design work in the armour, shields and weapons. So for this blog I wanted to feature a few of the best lotro related fashion sites and pass on the opportunity for you to look your very best while conquering evil in middle earth.
Lotro Fashion was established by a long time player & was one of the first of it's type on the internet. All of the featured outfits are screenshots as is and not Photoshopped. You can browse outfits by class, race, gender, and lore. If you can't find a piece, or it's just inaccessible, the developers tend to repeat designs so you can usually find a similar piece in the store or for barter. Below is a screenshot of Patrix wearing an outfit inspired by Grimthold of Ethel. This look uses the Lesser Blade of the West breastplate & leggings (from the Ost Dunnoth Champion set), the Wig-feld Cloak (from the Rift of Nurz Gashu raid-white), the Strong Westfold War Helmet (T7 heavy armour crafted piece), and the Ost Dunhoth Guardian Boots (gold).
One of my favorite outfits is inspired by the tale of Rían of Bëor and Simbelmynë. Rían fell in love with & married Huor the brother of Húrin. Three years later, Huor fought & died at the 5th battle against Morgoth. Rían, who was expecting when her husband went off to battle, gave birth to a son, Tuor, & then entrusted his care to the Grey Elves and went to find her husband. When she found the site of the battle, Haudh-en-Nirnaeth strewn with the bodies of the dead, she lay down on a mound and died from grief.
Here Mildrith is wearing the outfit featured on the site. Simbelmynë is a flower that grows upon graves. The Simbelmynë dress is a cosmetic from the spring festival, the Cloak of the Northern Lights is from the store, & the headpiece is the Hat of Deep Lore.
This site features not only lore inspired outfits but also unusual or humorous outfits. Also created by a long time player, the Starry Mantle is inspired by a mantle made by Faramir's mother which he wrapped around Eowyn as they stood on the walls of Minas Tirith. Categories include His & Hers outfits, mount matching, and outfits inspired by the lore.
Below Gabriele is wearing an outfit resembling one on the site that is inspired by Turin. It includes the Chestplate of the Indominable Protector (Galtrev Adventurers Quartermaster-gold), the Lesser Blade of the West Boots (bartered at Harndirion novices quartermaster, white), master guardsman's heavy leggings of Adlan (barter- skirmish camp heavy armour), and the Pauldrons of the Indominable protector (Galtrev Adventurers Quartermaster-gold).
The hundreds of armour and cosmetic pieces available in Lotro provide players with a seemingly endless number of possible outfits for every purpose. There's no reason you can't look stylish at any level. Here are some other popular sites you can visit to get ideas for putting together the perfect look for yourself as you combat the growing evil in middle earth in the Lord of the Rings Online.
