I'm creating a thread for miscellaneous tips and hints, rather than posting them as separate threads. Feel free to post things you think might help others.
For Metalsmiths, there is a recipe for Quality Doomfold Ingot under Processing that uses a single Doomfold Ingot. The Prospector recipe takes 5 Chunks of Doomfold Skarn. Since it only takes 2 chunks to make an ingot, it is more efficient, or it is a way a Metalsmith can make 2 Quality Doomfold Ingots per day.
Mordor is large, and it takes a while to ride to various locations.
The Mordor travel hub is Magh Ashtu. You can swift stable to it from South Bree. You enter Mordor from The Wastes to Udun Foothold. Even at 105, it is not hard to ride to the other stable locations to tag them.
Once you reach level 110, you can select an allegiance. After you do the allegiance intro quest, you will get a port to your allegiance's hall. That port has a 5 minute cooldown. At that location is also a Rider to Mordor, which instantly ports you to Magh Ashtu. So with a 5 minute cooldown, you can get to any Mordor stable in two or three quick hops.
In Udun, in the quest line that starts with Whispers and Signs, you get the quest Three Proofs when you summon the NPCs by Rhud Vorn.
While this quest is active, you get a companion Yordam, level 114, over 160,000 morale. He'll stay with you and join in fights until you complete the quest. He is able to follow you into Anglach, but not Durthang . He added about 20% to Nodread's DPS. While I had him, I did Anglach, finished the Enforcers quests and did some of the other ones where I had to fight my way through a bunch of mobs.
Black Adamant Shards are a special crafting item for Doomfold tier. They are in ore, wood, and scholar nodes, and presumably rarely from farming nodes. They can also come from the resource crates and mob drops.
So far, there are not a lot of recipes that use them, but there are two important ones.
All 7 guilds have an Enchanted Gorgoroth Adamant recipe that can be bought for silver from the Elf-Smith. The recipe uses 3 Black Adamant Shards, has a cooldown of 18 hours, and requires Westemnet Guild tier. The item it creates is bind on acquire and can be turned into 10 Ashes of Gorgoroth. The recipe can crit, so you might get 2.
All 7 guilds have a Guild-quality item recipe that can be bartered from the allegiance quartermaster for 3 Tokens of Service. The recipe uses 3 Black Adamant Shards, has a cooldown of 18 hours, and requires Westemnet Guild tier. The item it creates is bind on acquire and gives 1000 Allegiance Points. The recipe can crit, so you might get 2.
Doomfold Minstrel Instrument recipes also use a Black Adamant Shard.
The allegiance quests, including the Daily Expedition quest to do four quests in two (of the five possible) regions, reset at the usual reset time, 3 AM /servertime (Eastern).
The Daily Expedition quest changes (that is, a new quest is offered with different regions and the old one is removed) at 10 AM /servertime.
That means you can do the previous day's Daily Expedition quest and (if you like) the same 4 quests a second time between 3 AM and 10 AM /servertime. I did it last night, and so got 2 Black Steel Keys.
After 10 AM, you will see today's Daily Expedition quest, and you can do that as well.
I don't know if this is Works As Intended, but it is Works As Implemented. This is similar to the Featured Instance, which is also controlled by quest resets. You can do the Featured Instance after reset Sunday night (early Monday morning) and still do the new FI Monday after it changes at 10 AM.
If your playing schedule allows, you can do the Daily Expedition quest twice a day.
The quest Tracking the Enemy sends you to confront Glupronk in a camp called Kala-murg in Lhingris. There will be some things to click on and some mobs to kill when you get there. It turns out that Glupronk is actually in a cave. Michaleo died many times looking for Glupronk before I discovered that there was a cave. Even when I knew there was a cave, Nodread died several times trying to get back to it because it was hard to find the entrance. I wrote down the coordinates and Wrytune went there directly first and did the quests without dying.
The cave entrance is at 53.5s 5.0e. The cave also has a number of the clickable items, so if you go there first, you can spend less time clicking them outside where there are mobs to aggro. By defeating Glupronk first, you will be ready to leave the camp as soon as you finish the side quests.
It only seems like you have to do all the Mordor quests (and also get to 30 in your allegiance) to open the allegiance dailies. You do have to complete 8 quest lines in the hidden deed Tales of Gorgoroth, but that apparently does not include the Dar Mauzur quests. Nodread hasn't finished those quests, but the quest to open the dailies popped up when he logged in today.
[Corrected per Clulyan, max allegiance not required to open dailies.]

You only have to complete the quests in the deed. You do not have to be level 30 on your allegiance. I wasn't at 30 when I started doing them. The deed is what unlocks the dailies so only the quests listed in the deed are what has to be completed.
I mentioned in an earlier post the convenience of using the port to the allegiance hall to get to the Magh Ashtu stable quickly with a 5 minute cooldown. If you have multiple allegiances, the ports have separate cooldowns, so you have more options to port without waiting.
Once you have completed the hidden deed Tales of Gorgoroth, which has the 8 quest lines you need to open the allegiance dailies, you get a pop-up quest to talk to the Expedition Organizer at your allegiance hall. However, you will only get that quest the next time you log in. Once you turn in that quest, you can take the daily and weekly quest.
The deed will be changed to not be hidden in the next update.
There is a bonus allegiance quest you can get when you do one of the instances. It pops up when you enter the instance. You collect different items depending on your allegiance: gems, supplies, relics, or rations. Once you have collected the required items, you complete the quest by depositing them in a collection box at your allegiance hall. It rewards with a Relic of the Last Alliance (2000 Allegiance Points).
The quest is available twice a week, and resets Sunday night (3AM Monday /servertime) and Wednesday night (3AM Thursday).
There are some bugs that should be fixed in the next update:
You should get the quest for all the allegiances you have. Currently, you only get it for one allegiance you have started but not yet completed.
Some instances have some items that are missing or inaccessible. You can complete the quest by going into a different instance and clicking items there.
There are new daily quests, one for each allegiance, available from the Expedition Organizer. These quests count toward the 4 quests needed for the Daily Expedition quest!
They are in the same two areas that the other daily quests are. So far, they have all been pretty easy.
